| Job Description | Welding Supervisor Primary Objectives Role holders supervise the technicians, dedicated to welding works, providing installation, preventative maintenance,. This role typically reports to a supervisor-level role holder and superintendent, within the same division. The key contribution is to plan, organize and ensure the work done in safe and productive manner. The holder should be expertised in welding field both fabrication and in the lvie plant can interpret welding symbols on structural & isometric drawings. The holder is required to demonstrate team leadership based on technical knowledge, vocational skills and substantial hands-on experience. Specific Accountabilities. Prioritise and implement schedules relating to planned welding, installation and repair activities for a team within an allocated time. Supervise and support assigned team in achieving to complete the task safe and efficient manner. Contribute, in anticipation of need, to effective emergency procedures and the allocation resources. Act as a source of technical expertise within allocated team in order to troubleshoot major and complex problems. Monitor inventory levels and performance and quality of spare parts and consumables. Maintaining the calibration certificates of welding equipment. Generate daily activity reports and database information for in order to monitor and track work progress, identify trends and maintain comprehensive service histories of all plant and equipment. Ensure the implementation of and adherence to approved, health, environmental and quality procedures and systems that protect staff and assets Responsible to conduct toolbox talk, in implementation the PTW System Essential Experience / Skills Substantial knowledge of all operational aspects of discipline- specific maintenance, responsibilities developed through experience, team leadership roles and formal training programmes. An analytical approach is necessary to developing possible options for resolution of problems. A high order of communication skill s is demanded, as is the ability to work under pressure, often in isolation. Matching indicators. Completion of Diploma or Degree in Engineering followed by 3 years of formal trade training, plus a minimum of 7 years direct maintenance experience in the oil and gas sector. |
